Meditation on the Breath

 

The central theme in most meditation practices is to establish an anchor to return to when the mind wanders.

In mindfulness meditation, we use the breath and/or sensation as an anchor. In this practice, you focus on your breath and when the mind wanders (or whatever arises), notice that, and come back to your breath.

Body Scan Meditation

 

Body scan meditation is a good way to release tension in your body/mind.

Even tension that you were not aware that you were experiencing. The practice helps break the cycle of physical and psychological tension. This effective meditation can help you develop and maintain an easeful state.
